Cincinnati Reds right-handed pitching prospect
Rhett Lowder (oblique) underwent another MRI on his injured left oblique and is continuing to deal with swelling, Charlie Clifford of NBC 5 Cincinnati reports. Lowder, the seventh pick in the 2023 draft, hasn't pitched this year while battling multiple injuries. The 23-year-old was originally shelved with a strained right forearm, and then he suffered a significant oblique strain during a Triple-A rehab start in late May. At the very least, it doesn't look as if he'll make his 2025 major league debut until after the All-Star break. Lowder, MLB Pipeline's second-ranked Reds prospect, received his first big league promotion last year and pitched to a stellar 1.17 ERA with 22:14 K:BB in 30 2/3 innings.

Los Angeles Angels relief pitcher
Ryan Zeferjahn filled in for
Kenley Jansen on Wednesday afternoon to help his team close out a sweep of the visiting Red Sox. The former Red Sox prospect was traded to the Angels last July and has become a key part of the bullpen for Los Angeles. He threw two hitless innings with just one walk against his former team and secured the 5-2 victory, earning his second save of the season. Overall, he is 4-1 in his 34 appearances with a 4.45 ERA and 4.82 FIP to go with an impressive 11.3 K/9. He has not allowed a run in eight of his last 10 games and has become a solid late-inning option. Jansen will remain the team's primary closer, but he did leave his last game with cramps in his neck. If Jansen misses time or the injury is worse than expected, Zeferjahn could be the next man up for the Halos.

Cincinnati Reds third baseman
Noelvi Marte (oblique) went 0-for-4 in his first rehab game with Double-A Chattanooga on Wednesday. That will be the first of five rehab games in a row for Marte, according to Charlie Clifford of NBC 5 Cincinnati. Marte has been on the 10-day injured list with a strained left oblique since May 7. The 23-year-old got off to an effective start before then, hitting .294/.342/.515 with three home runs, 17 RBI, 10 runs scored, and four steals in 73 plate appearances. The Reds haven't found a solution at the hot corner in Marte's absence, meaning he should receive plenty of playing time when he comes back.

Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman
Max Muncy stayed hot on Wednesday night in Colorado, going 2-for-4 with six RBI and two runs scored in the Dodgers' 8-1 win over the Rockies. He broke the game open with a grand slam in the seventh inning after opening the scoring with a two-RBI single in the sixth. Muncy's blast was his third in the last three games and his ninth in his last 26 games. In the 30 days, he is hitting .342 with a .491 wOBA and 55.4% hard-hit rate. Whether it's his new glasses or just a hot streak, Muncy is definitely rolling right now and can be a great play in all fantasy formats at the hot corner, especially on Thursday when he and the Dodgers close out their series at Coors Field. Muncy has struggled at times against lefties, but he's smashing righties, so he's also a great option to rotate based on splits and matchups if you have other options.

San Francisco Giants third baseman
Casey Schmitt (wrist) was hit in the left wrist on a 95 mph sinker from Miami Marlins closer
Calvin Faucher in the bottom of the ninth inning on Wednesday. Schmitt stayed in the game in the top of the 10th, but the Giants were going to pinch-hit for him in the bottom of the inning. He underwent X-rays after the Giants' 8-5 loss, and they came back negative, according to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area. Schmitt could undergo more testing today. The hope is that he won't require a stint on the 10-day injured list. The Giants are already shorthanded at the hot corner with starter
Matt Chapman on the IL because of a hand injury, but Schmitt has excelled in his absence. He's 20-for-60 (.333) with four home runs, 12 RBI, and a dozen runs scored in 19 games this month.

Detroit Tigers right-hander
Reese Olson (finger) had a successful rehab start with Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday and could return to the majors in the coming days. Olson, out since mid-May with inflammation in his right ring finger, tossed four innings of two-run ball with three hits allowed and 5:1 K:BB over 74 pitches. Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Wednesday that Olson "checked out really, really well. He was happy with all of his pitches and the fact that he got through it unscathed in terms of health is a great step forward." Olson will rejoin the Tigers on Thursday and "throw a bullpen in the next day or two," Hinch added. The 25-year-old was a key cog in Detroit's rotation before the injury interrupted his season. Olson's 4-3 with a 2.96 ERA, a 1.17 WHIP, and 51:19 K:BB across 48 2/3 innings.

Houston Astros right-hander
Spencer Arrighetti (thumb) threw a bullpen session on Tuesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports. It's an important step for Arrighetti, who has been working back from a broken right thumb since early April. The 25-year-old made two starts before the injury and combined for 9 2/3 innings of six-run ball with eight strikeouts and five walks. He should factor back into Houston's rotation when he returns, but that's unlikely to happen before the All-Star break. Arrighetti will likely require a minor league rehab assignment before he rejoins the Astros.

Athletics second baseman
Zack Gelof (hand, ribs) will remain on a Triple-A rehab assignment for at least another week, according to Martin Gallegos of MLB.com. Gelof hasn't played in the majors this season on account of multiple injuries. He suffered a broken hamate bone in his right hand during spring training and then succumbed to a stress reaction in his ribs while on a rehab assignment in May. The 25-year-old has played nine games during his current rehab stint and batted .217/.424/.304 with two steals, nine walks, and five strikeouts. In his first full major league season last year, Gelof hit an underwhelming .211/.270/.362 with an American League-worst 188 strikeouts over 547 plate appearances. However, he did amass 17 home runs and 25 steals.
Luis Urias has been the A's primary option at the keystone, but Gelof should take over that role when he makes his season debut.

Miami Marlins left-handed pitching prospect
Robby Snelling tossed seven shutout frames en route to picking up the victory over Double-A Chattanooga on Wednesday. In this outing, Snelling struck out seven batters and allowed just three hits and no walks. This was Snelling's second-straight contest tallying at least seven strikeouts in a start. Since allowing four runs on June 11, Snelling has flipped the script, logging 13 innings of one-run ball with a near-perfect 14:2 K:BB. Through 67 1/3 total innings with Double-A Pensacola this season, Snelling has held a solid 3.74 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP. During this stint, Snelling has struck out 77 batters and allowed 21 walks. If he continues to find his footing at Double-A, Snelling should be in contention to earn a promotion to Triple-A Jacksonville in the second half.

Chicago White Sox catching prospect
Kyle Teel went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI during the victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday evening. Teel knocked an RBI single in the opening frame, which scored
Miguel Vargas. Through his first taste of MLB action, Teel has continued to showcase a strong eye at the plate. Through 14 games, Teel has drawn walks at a stellar 17.8% rate. During this stretch, he has held a .282/.408/.359 slash line with a 15:8 K:BB and three doubles. Earlier this season at Triple-A, Teel was very productive, posting a .295/.394/.492 line with 10 doubles and eight long balls across 50 games. Teel should continue to see close to everyday at-bats in the White Sox lineup and is a viable No. 2 catcher in all fantasy formats.

Seattle Mariners outfield prospect
Lazaro Montes went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run, and two RBI during their contest against Double-A Amarillo. After going 0-for-3 with two walks in his Double-A debut on Tuesday, Montes wasted little time to make an impact on Wednesday. Montes is currently considered the No. 36-ranked prospect in the sport and No. 2-ranked prospect in the Seattle system on MLB.com. Montes opened the campaign with High-A, where he posted a strong .268/.387/.572 slash line with 12 doubles, 18 home runs, and an 83:48 K:BB. Fantasy managers should continue to closely monitor the budding star as he appears to be a fast-rising asset in dynasty leagues. Montes remains on track to compete for his MLB debut during the 2026 season.

New York Yankees outfield prospect
Spencer Jones went 1-for-4 with his 16th home run of the season during their contest against Double-A Erie on Wednesday evening. Jones was recently named Eastern League Player of the Week and has continued to remain hot in the batter's box. Since June 1 (20 games), Jones has posted a strong .315/.398/.658 slash line with four doubles, seven home runs, and three stolen bases. After holding a modest .259/.336/.452 line across 122 games with Double-A Somerset during the 2024 campaign, the No. 2-ranked prospect in the system has begun to turn the corner in 2025. Through 48 total games this season, Jones has posted a .271/.389/.600 line. The 24-year-old could contend for a second-half promotion to Triple-A.

Cleveland Guardians first base prospect
C.J. Kayfus went 1-for-3 with a grand slam and a walk during their contest against Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday evening. This was Kayfus' second-straight contest launching a grand slam. Since earning the call to Triple-A earlier this season, the No. 5-ranked prospect in Cleveland has been one of the most productive hitters at the level. Through his first 46 games at the Triple-A level, he has posted a remarkable .306/.378/.572 slash line with 11 doubles, four triples, and nine long balls. He opened the campaign with Double-A, where he held a stellar .364/.475/.591 line with 11 round-trippers in just 18 contests. Fantasy managers should continue to view Kayfus as a solid stash option in 12+ team leagues, as he is nearing his MLB debut.

Toronto Blue Jays right-handed pitching prospect
Trey Yesavage enjoyed his best start at the Double-A level on Wednesday evening. In this outing against Double-A Hartford, Yesavage logged five innings of one-hit ball with no runs and just one free pass. He struck out eight batters. This was also a much-needed bounce-back outing for Yesavage as he posted a high 6.75 ERA and a 1.65 WHIP during his first two starts at Double-A. Yesavage opened the campaign with Low-A but quickly progressed through that level and eventually High-A as well. Through 50 2/3 innings in the lower levels of the minor leagues, Yesavage posted a stellar 2.13 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, and an 88:13 K:BB. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his production as he could be in the mix for a late-season MLB debut.

Seattle Mariners catcher prospect
Harry Ford went 2-for-2 with three RBI and two walks in Wednesday's 13-4 loss against Triple-A Round Rock. Ford provided nearly all of the offense for his team in this game, and continued his strong month of June. He's hitting .282/.402/.437 with a 12:14 BB:K in 71-at bats. The power output will be around average, but he has also produced a healthy number of steals throughout his time in the minor leagues which not many catchers can say. He is blocked at catcher by baseball's home run leader in
Cal Raleigh, but could come up and make starts at catcher, first base, or DH later in the season.
