On paper, it might look like Riley Herbst might have some DFS value for Sunday's Michigan race since his 23XI Racing teammate Tyler Reddick won here last year, and his other teammate Bubba Wallace won the pole and finished second here in 2022. However, as usual, the rookie lacks speed in the NASCAR Cup Series, as his only top-10 finishes came on drafting tracks and he has never finished better than 14th elsewhere. Additionally, his 34th-place qualifying run is one of the worst of the season, and he seems to be slower on intermediates than most other track types. He has benefited from strategy a few times on intermediates, such as when he finished 19th at Las Vegas and 14th at Texas, but he didn't actually run well in those races. Even if he does finish in the top 20 on strategy, he won't likely score enough DFS points to be worth starting.

Cole Custer makes his first start at Michigan since 2023 from the 24th starting position on Sunday. Although Custer had one of his most decent runs of the season last week at Nashville, don't expect that to continue at Michigan, a track where he has never finished better than 23rd or had an average running position of better than 17th, even when he was driving for a Stewart-Haas Racing team that had more speed on intermediates and all tracks than the Stewart Haas Factory Team does. The only value Custer could have is if he qualified really badly and backed into a top finish on strategy, but he probably qualified too well to score enough place-differential points to be worth starting for DFS.

Tyler Reddick was one of the few drivers that had to deal with a flat tire during practice at Michigan International Speedway on Saturday morning. However, the No. 45 Toyota was fast prior to that. Before the tire issue happened, Reddick had the seventh-fastest lap of the session and looked great on the long run, posting the best 10-lap average. He's the defending winner here at Michigan International Speedway, so he definitely knows how to get around this track. As of Saturday afternoon, it still wasn't determined whether the 23XI Racing team would have to repair the car before Sunday's FireKeepers Casino 400. If so, Reddick will have to drop to the rear at the start of the race, but that shouldn't be a big deal. On DraftKings this weekend, Reddick is underpriced at $9,800, and should be a contender for the win. He's a strong DFS option in all formats on Sunday.

Ryan Preece should be a contender for a top-10 finish at Michigan this weekend despite qualifying back in 23rd place for Sunday afternoon's FireKeepers Casino 400. Surprisingly, Preece's No. 60 Ford has been one of the most consistent cars on intermediate tracks this season, as he ranks fourth-fastest (on average) over the four races on this track type. Here at Michigan specifically, Preece ended up finishing 11th in last year's race, and now he drives for Roush-Fenway Keselowski Racing, which has been one of the best in the Irish Hills in the Next Gen era. At $7,000 on DraftKings this weekend, Preece is a solid mid-tier DFS option that has upside with a path to get into the optimal lineup. Don't be afraid to roll the dice with him on Sunday. In practice on Saturday, Preece was 13th-fastest with a speed of 194.274 mph.

Brad Keselowski is a strong DFS play at Michigan International Speedway this weekend. Michigan has been his best track in the Next Gen era, as Brad has an average driver rating of 92.3 in the last three races here with finishes of fifth, fourth, and 15th. He has also shown great speed at intermediate tracks this season but bad luck has gotten in the way of getting good finishes. At Charlotte a couple weeks ago, though, Keselowski finally had a race without any issues and finished fifth despite starting way back in 35th. That shows what the No. 6 Ford is capable of, and Goodyear is using the same left side tire this weekend at Michigan that was ran at Charlotte. Keselowski is very moderately priced at $7,500 on DraftKings this week, and he qualified back in 27th-place for Sunday's FireKeepers Casino 400. He's one of the best value plays in the field this weekend when it comes to DFS.

Look for Chris Buscher to have good speed in the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway this weekend. The No. 17 Ford was one of the fastest cars in practice on Saturday morning, posting the third-fastest single-lap speed and ranking fourth-best on the 10-lap average chart. Additionally, when it came to the 10 fastest laps laid down in practice, Buescher had the best speed for four of those. At Michigan specifically, this No. 17 Ford has been strong and steady. In addition to winning here in 2023, Buescher had a solid sixth-place finish in the Irish Hills last year, and he's shown speed on other intermediate tracks this season (particularly at Kansas). At $7,800 on DraftKings this weekend, Buescher makes for an interesting tournament consideration since he qualified up in sixth-place for Sunday's race. He doesn't have much Place Differential upside, but there's a possibility of leading laps and contending for the race win.

If you're looking for a low-to-mid-tier DFS option that has some upside at Michigan International Speedway, Erik Jones is a great choice. This two-mile track in the Irish Hills has been a great venue for the Michigan-born driver, as Jones has an average finish of 15.3 here over 12 career starts. In the Next Gen era, he has posted results of 16th, 10th, and eighth in the three races. This weekend, Jones ended up qualifying in 22nd-place for Sunday afternoon's FireKeepers Casino 400, which means he has some Place Differential upside at a relatively cheap price on DraftKings (his salary is only $6,700). Fresh off of his seventh-place finish at Nashville, Jones has now ended up 13th or better in three of his last four Cup Series starts. He has upside as a tournament DFS pick this weekend.

Fantasy managers have a bit of a decision to make at Michigan on Sunday as far as what to do with AJ Allmendinger. On one hand, the No. 16 Chevrolet has shown legitimate speed in several intermediate track races this season, including a strong top-five run at Charlotte a couple of weeks ago. Allmendinger also ended up eighth at Las Vegas and seventh at Homestead. However, as far as track record at Michigan International Speedway, it may be best to ignore that if you're looking to roll the dice with the Kaulig Racing driver this weekend. Allmendinger has never finished better than 11th here in 23 career starts and has posted finishes of 30th and 26th over the last two years in the Next Gen era car. He's priced at $6,500 on DraftKings, so it's not like you're breaking the bank by taking a flier on the No. 16 Chevrolet this weekend. But it's definitely a risky tournament play, considering Allmendinger starts 19th, so his place-differential upside is relatively limited.

Another week, another tournament punt option in Ty Dillon, who is priced very low at $5,100 on DraftKings for the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday. Ty has been serviceable at intermediate tracks this season, including finishes of 21st at Las Vegas, 12th at Texas, and 19th at Charlotte. Additionally, Dillon actually has a decent track record at Michigan specifically. He's finished 20th and 14th in two Next Gen races here and has an average finish of 20.5 over his 12 career Cup Series starts at this two-mile oval. Speed-wise, the No. 10 Chevrolet was slow during practice on Saturday, but the Kaulig Racing team was able to find some speed in qualifying and Ty Dillon will roll off the starting grid from 18th-place on race day. He's a super-risky DFS pick this weekend due to the high starting position, but Ty could be worth a flier or two in tournaments due to his extremely low DFS salary.
