Chase Dollander. Fantasy managers should expect both pitchers to take the bump later in this series. Jobe entered this content carrying a modest 3.38 ERA with a 1.33 WHIP. Across 24 innings, he struck out 18 batters. Dollander enjoyed his best outing last week against the Atlanta Braves, but still holds a high 6.48 ERA and a 1.52 WHIP across 25 innings of work.

Milwaukee Brewers left-handed pitcher
Aaron Ashby (oblique) is set to begin a rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League on Tuesday. The southpaw has been sidelined since March due to this oblique strain. However, it appears the left-hander is set to take the next step in his recovery process. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progress as he could return to Milwaukee in the coming weeks. Last season, the 26-year-old logged 28 1/3 innings of work in the major leagues and held a strong 2.86 ERA with a stellar 1.06 WHIP. He struck out 33 batters and served up walks at an 8.4 percent rate. He also generated a .202 xBA with an elite 60.5 percent ground-ball rate. While he spent most of his time in the bullpen last season, given the numerous injuries in the Milwaukee rotation, Ashby could find a role in the rotation later in the season.

The Texas Rangers officially recalled outfielder
Evan Carter from Triple-A Round Rock, and he's starting in center field and batting seventh on Tuesday against Boston Red Sox right-hander
Lucas Giolito at Fenway Park. Although Carter hit just .188 (27-for-144), dealt with injuries and played in only 45 games for the Rangers last year, he's worth looking at as a waiver-wire pickup right away in deeper mixed formats now that he's back in the big leagues. The Rangers recently cut
Leody Taveras, so the 22-year-old Carter could end up being on the strong side of a platoon in center for Texas. Carter was cold at the plate early on at Round Rock, but he hit .271 with two home runs and three steals in his last 12 games to get the call back to the majors. He has a hit in just two career at-bats against Giolito.

St. Louis Cardinals second baseman
Nolan Gorman is starting on the bench for Tuesday's contest against the division-rival Pittsburgh Pirates at Busch Stadium. This could be more of a regular occurrence against right-handed pitchers for Gorman, who has struggled mightily to a .175/.286/.302 slash line in his first 63 at-bats of 2025. The 24-year-old former 19th overall pick in 2018 has a home run, nine RBI, 10 runs scored, 11 walks and 21 strikeouts in 21 games played.
Brendan Donovan is starting at second base and batting third,
Alec Burleson is at first base and hitting sixth, and
Willson Contreras is the designated hitter and batting fifth against Pirates right-hander
Paul Skenes. Donovan has three hits and an RBI in 10 career at-bats against Skenes, while Burleson has hit .417 with two RBI in 12 at-bats against him. Contreras is hitless in his six at-bats versus Skenes.

St. Louis Cardinals shortstop
Masyn Winn (ankle) is back at shortstop and is hitting second on Tuesday at Busch Stadium against the division-rival Pittsburgh Pirates and right-hander
Paul Skenes. The Cardinals held Winn out of the series-opening win over the Pirates on Monday after he suffered a mild left-ankle sprain in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader against the New York Mets. The 23-year-old is back in there on Tuesday and back near the top of the batting order, but DFS gamers will likely be passing on him in this matchup against the hard-throwing Skenes, last year's National League Rookie of the Year. Winn has excelled in the two-hole, though, hitting .412 (7-for-17) in a small sample size with two home runs, three RBI and a stolen base. In 12 career at-bats versus Skenes, he's hitting .167 with a .334 OPS.

Seattle Mariners infielder/outfielder
Dylan Moore (hip) has been reinstated from the 10-day IL, with infielder/outfielder
Samad Taylor having been optioned to Triple-A Tacoma. The Mariners will be getting their super-utility player back in Moore, who had been dealing with right hip inflammation. The 32-year-old can be a bit streaky, but was a multi-category contributor before hitting the IL, hitting .286 with six home runs, nine RBI, and 16 runs scored, while adding five steals. Eligible at 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, and OF on Yahoo!, the right-handed hitter offers a ton of flexibility for fantasy managers in leagues with daily lineup changes and is rostered in just over half of leagues.

Trevor Larnach will start in right field and bat eighth for Tuesday's series opener against the visiting Baltimore Orioles and left-hander
Cade Povich at Target Field. Larnach was initially slated to be on the bench, he draws into the lineup after
Harrison Bader was scratched. The 28-year-old left-handed-hitting outfielder is best faded in DFS and regular fantasy leagues while facing a left-hander on Tuesday. The former first-rounder (20th overall) in 2018 out of Oregon State has slashed .230/.321/.344 on the year with a .666 OPS, four home runs, 16 RBI, 17 runs scored and one stolen base in 122 at-bats. Against lefties, he's gone 3-for-21 with no homers, two RBI, one walk and six strikeouts. Larnach has never faced off against Povich in his career.

Royce Lewis (hamstring) is serving as the designated hitter and is batting fifth for the Twins in his 2025 debut on Tuesday against the visiting Baltimore Orioles and left-hander
Cade Povich. Lewis strained his left hamstring in spring training and missed the start of the regular season, but he was activated from the injured list on Monday and will make his season debut in the series opener against Baltimore. While the 25-year-old former first-rounder has had trouble staying on the field since debuting in the big leagues in 2022, he has demonstrated his ability for high-end power by hitting 33 home runs and driving in 104 in 152 total games over 152 big-league games. Eventually, Lewis will move to an everyday role at third base, but for now, he will be eased in as the DH. Lewis is hitless in just two career at-bats versus Povich.

Carlos Carrasco was designated for assignment on Tuesday after posting a 5.91 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and 10.6 percent K-BB% over eight appearances (six starts, 32 IP). The team recalled
Yerry De Los Santos in a corresponding move, but as a reliever, the move doesn't fill the void in the rotation left by Carrasco. It's not clear what the Yankees' rotation plans are from here, although the team does have
Allan Winans at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre who recently made headlines for striking out 10 of the first 11 batters he faced back on April 23, currently sporting a 0.00 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and a 5:24 BB:K in 14 IP. Regardless, look for Carrasco to latch on somewhere else, but he's probably best left to the waiver wire wherever that ends up being.

Jhonkensy Noel will retreat to the bench for Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the hosting Washington Nationals. The left-handed-hitting
Nolan Jones will start in right field and bat eighth against Nationals right-hander
Jake Irvin. This will be Noel's second straight game on the bench after he's gone 4-for-31 with two home runs, four RBI, no walks and 13 strikeouts in his last 12 games since April 20. The 23-year-old Dominican has hit just .164 (11-for-67) on the year with two homers and eight RBI. Jones hasn't been any better from the left side as an option in right field, going 12-for-77 (.156) with one long ball, five RBI, five runs and two stolen bases. Neither player has stood out and gained extra playing time for the Guards as of early May. Jones won't be a very attractive DFS play due to his slump and his low lineup placement.

St. Louis Cardinals closer
Ryan Helsley picked up his sixth save of the season on Monday, securing the 6-3 victory over the Pirates. It wasn't a clean inning, though, as two runners reached base via singles, but a groundout and two strikeouts ended Pittsburgh's threat. With a 3.46 ERA and 1.54 WHIP, the righty hasn't been quite as dominant as last year, but is in one of the more stable back-end bullpen situations in the league, which makes him one of the more valuable relievers for fantasy. However, the 30-year-old also picked up a save on Sunday, so pitching back-to-back nights may open the door for another reliever to pick up a save on Tuesday if the situation arises.

New York Mets closer
Edwin Diaz secured the team's 5-4 win over the Diamondbacks on Monday, picking up his eighth save of the season in the process. The first batter reached base on an error, but was caught stealing for the first out, then Diaz coaxed a flyout and a strikeout to end the game. The 31-year-old hit a rough patch earlier this season and has battled through a hip issue, but has allowed just two runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks while striking out 15 over his last eight appearances. For the season, the 2x All-Star owns a 3.86 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and a 7:22 BB:K over 14 innings pitched, and remains one of the top options at the position for fantasy.
