Ozzie Albies 2023 Player Outlook: Premium Second Baseman Set To Bounce Back From Injury Ravaged 2022
2 years agoAfter a monstrous 2021 season, last year was something of a lost campaign for Ozzie Albies following foot and finger injuries that limited him to just 64 games. He is set to be a full go for Spring Training and the Braves will be hoping Albies can replicate his 2021 season when he hit .259/.310/.488 with 30 homers, 106 RBI, 103 runs and 20 steals. He was one of only three players to be in the 30/20 club with 100+ RBI and runs (along with Jose Ramirez and Shohei Ohtani). In limited time last year, Albies still had eight homers, 35 RBI, 36 runs and three stolen bases and with an ADP ~47, fantasy managers seem to be concerned of more missed time in 2023. It's easy to forget Albies is still only going to be 26 years old on Opening Day given this will be his seventh season in the Majors and he's played at least 156 games in three of the last five seasons (missing half of the shortened 2020 season with a wrist injury). Albies is set to have a bounceback year and could easily find himself as the number one second baseman in fantasy by the end of 2023.
