Despite struggles to stay healthy over a full season, Nathan Eovaldi did make 29 starts in 2024. And he has averaged 151 innings over the last four seasons. In that time, Eovaldi has a 41-25 W-L record, 3.76 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and 596 Ks (606.1 IP). When on the mound, he's been one of the most reliable starting pitchers in baseball since 2021. Four IL stints and 139 days missed through injury over the last three seasons means there is an inherent risk with drafting Eovaldi. He's currently being taken outside the top 200 overall picks and as an SP6 in standard leagues. Considering Eovaldi had a 3.47 xFIP and 3.64 SIERA in 2024, we shouldn't assume his numbers will be in sharp decline. That's despite being 35 years old on Opening Day. Eovaldi's 23.9% K% last year was up from the previous two seasons. His fastball averaged 95.4 MPH in 2024 which was also up from 2023 (95.1 MPH). The biggest risk in drafting Eovaldi is health and whether he can total enough innings to be worthwhile rostering. Providing you temper expectations and plan for ~150.0 IP from him, Eovaldi can still offer value at his ADP.--Jamie Steed
