Calgary Flames goaltender Mike Smith will protect the net as his team faces off against the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday. The 36-year-old picked up a loss in his last start against the St. Louis Blues back on December 22nd, allowing three goals on 27 shots. Resigned more to a backup role as of late, Smith might be in line for more starts with fellow netminder David Rittich day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Considering Smith's body of work this season (2.99 goals-against average, .888 save percentage), it'd probably be best for fantasy owners to look elsewhere for a starting goaltending option on Wednesday.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
