According to Tim Healey of Newsday, the New York Mets are interested in left-handed free-agent pitcher Tim Hill. Hill opened the 2024 season with the White Sox and was eventually shipped to the Bronx. While he held a 5.87 ERA and a 2.22 WHIP across 23 innings on the Southside, he turned the corner with the Yankees as he posted a strong 2.05 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP through 44 innings of work. He was also sharp in the postseason, holding a strong 1.08 ERA. Under the hood, the 34-year-old generated a stellar 1.7% barrel rate and 68.1% ground-ball rate, which were both the highest marks among qualified pitchers last season. Hill would be a nice addition to the Mets bullpen, as they currently have just two southpaws on their depth chart.--Andy Smith
