4 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Matthew Boyd was hit hard in Saturday's 7-5 loss to the Kansas City Royals. Boyd pitched five innings and allowed eight hits, three walks and five earned runs while striking out five. This was the second consecutive rough outing for Boyd, who allowed four earned runs over six innings to the Chicago Cubs last weekend. He now has a 4.76 ERA over three starts this month, more than double his 2.27 ERA in April. Boyd is still worth holding onto in just about all fantasy leagues despite the recent struggles. He'll look to bounce back from this rough outing on Thursday when he faces the Cleveland Indians.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
