Matt Strahm May Not Be Ready To Start
Matt Strahm may not be ready to start by Opening Day but can come out of the bullpen. Although he's competing for a back-end rotation spot, Strahm also projects to be a useful relief arm. Strahm is returning from a torn left patellar tendon suffered last July. He offers a four-pitch repertoire with a minor league K/9 of 10.9 and K/BB of 3.75. In 56 2/3 big league innings, Strahm has registered a 3.81 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 10.6 K/9. Earlier reports suggest he's impressed thus far in spring training.
