Matt Chapman Hopes For Success in 2018
7 years agoMatt Chapman debuted for the Oakland Athletics and was just an average major league player for them in his first 80 games in the Show. He did show some decent power with 14 Home Runs in 84 games, but also hit a lowly .234 and struck out 92 times in under 300 at-bats. To write Chapman off as fantasy relevant after half a season under his belt is not a fair assessment, but unless playing in AL only leagues, he should not be drafted in any normal 25-26 round draft. He is an interesting guy to keep an eye on as the Athletics have sneaky sleeper potential, but don’t spend any equity on him in the early portion of the season.
