Matt Chapman Dealing With Sprained Ligaments in his Hand
Matt Chapman (hand) said that he will miss more than 10 games on the injured list with a sprained hand, according to the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser. Chapman had an MRI exam on Monday that showed sprained ligaments, but he's hoping to be back before the end of the first half of the 2025 season. The 32-year-old veteran injured his right hand while diving back into first base on Sunday against the Atlanta Braves. Although he won't be back in 10 days, there's a chance Chapman could be back before the All-Star break in mid-July. Fantasy managers will want to stash the former first-rounder in all leagues, especially since he was hitting .395 (15-for-38) with three homers, five doubles, five RBI, two steals and seven runs in his last 11 games. Casey Schmitt should see most of the starts at third base in San Fran until Chapman returns.
