Madison Bumgarner Gets Hit Around In Monday Loss
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner fell to 2-5 in Monday's 7-0 loss to the Reds. MadBum pitched 5 innings, allowing four runs on eights hits (including a solo home run) and two walks with four strikeouts. The 32-year-old veteran has pitched decently overall on the surface this season, compiling a 3.64 ERA with 41 strikeouts and 21 walks over 12 starts and 59 1/3 innings pitched. However, his Statcast metrics are all mostly in the bottom third of baseball, which does not inspire a ton of confidence. His next matchup will be a tough test at the Phillies, and fantasy managers would be wise to avoid starting him.
