Mackenzie Dern (9-1) continued to show her ground dominance, forcing veteran Randa Markos to tap out due to an armbar in the first round. Three of Dern's four UFC victories have come by first-round submission. Dern went for a kick early and slipped. Markos jumped into the lion's den and it was over from there. Dern worked for a triangle that was a bit high, but eventually locked in an armbar that led to the tapout. Dern only landed nine significant strikes and no takedowns, but these numbers cannot be used to judge her performance when she earned the early first-round finish.--Matt Bricker
