Luis Robert Retreats To The Bench
2 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert is on the bench on Wednesday against the Cleveland Guardians. Robert has been in and out of the lineup (mostly out) with hand/wrist injuries in the month of September, and his production has suffered as a result. He has just one hit in 23 at-bats with eight strikeouts in seven games played in September to drop his season line to .284/.319/.426 with 12 home runs, 56 RBI, 54 runs scored and 11 stolen bases in 380 at-bats. The 25-year-old slugger has played just twice in the team's last six games. AJ Pollock will patrol center field and bat seventh on Wednesday against Guardians right-hander Triston McKenzie. Pollock has been much hotter at the plate this month, going 20-for-68 (.294) with four homers, 11 RBI, 11 runs scored and a steal in 18 games.
