San Diego Padres first baseman Luis Arraez (concussion) is being placed on the seven-day concussion injured list on Monday, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune's Kevin Acee. Arraez is in the league's concussion protocol after colliding with Houston Astros utility man Mauricio Dubon at first base in Sunday's victory. In a scary scene, the 28-year-old two-time batting champion had to be put on a stretcher and taken to the hospital on Sunday. The good news is that Arraez rejoined the team after Sunday's game and was seen walking in the clubhouse. He said that everything checked out fine at the hospital. Arraez will still be forced to miss a week of action, but there's a chance he could be ready to go when he's eligible to come off the IL. In the meantime, SD could use a combination of Connor Joe, Yuli Gurriel and Gavin Sheets at first base and designated hitter. Sheets is at first and Oscar Gonzalez is the DH for Monday's series opener against the Detroit Tigers.--Keith Hernandez
