Logan Gilbert May Need Multiple Rehab Outings
Logan Gilbert (elbow) completed a simulated game on Friday. However, the right-hander is expected to require multiple rehab appearances before being cleared to return from the 15-day injured list. The right-hander has been sidelined with a right elbow flexor strain since late April. Given his current progress, fantasy managers should expect the right-hander to remain sidelined for at least a few more weeks. Before his injury, the 28-year-old was enjoying an impressive start to the season. Through his first 30 1/3 innings of work, the right-hander held a strong 2.37 ERA with a 0.79 WHIP. He tallied 44 punchouts and held a stellar 5.1% walk rate. When he returns, Gilbert should be viewed as a must-start high-end SP1. While he remains sidelined, Emerson Hancock and Logan Evans should remain in the starting rotation.
