New Jersey Devils right wing Kyle Palmieri opened the scoring with his seventh goal in four games as the home team pushed aside the Dallas Stars 3-0. Palmieri is the first player in NHL history to score his team's opening goal in four straight contests to open a new season. The 27-year-old has at least one power-play goal in each of his four outings, too, and two of his goals, including Tuesday, were of the game-winning variety.
