Kyle Freeland Loses In First Game Back
6 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland returned from the injured list on Monday, but he was welcomed back in the worst way. Freeland was knocked around for four runs in his first inning back in action, capped off by the first of two home runs by Jesus Aguilar. Freeland settled down after the first and only allowed one more run over the next five innings, but the hole was too great for the Rockies offense to pull out of. Freeland also struggled to post many strikeouts, as he only struck out three over the six innings. Since that was the knock on Freeland last year and that problem has a tendency to limit long-term performance in pitchers, that's something for owners to keep an eye on moving forward. The Diamondbacks will welcome Freeland home this weekend.
