Kutter Crawford to Throw Three-Inning Live BP Session on Thursday
Kutter Crawford (knee) will throw a three-inning live batting practice session on Thursday. Crawford is still on the mend after suffering from right patellar tendinopathy, but he could be cleared to start a minor-league rehab assignment if his session on Thursday without a hitch. Because Crawford has not pitched at all during the 2025 season, he should be expected to require a lengthy rehab assignment. Barring a setback with his knee injury, the 29-year-old hurler probably won't be able to make his season debut in Boston's starting rotation until at least the middle of June. Crawford made a career-high 33 starts a year ago and had a league-high 16 losses and allowed a league-high 34 home runs in 183 2/3 innings pitched. He won't be guaranteed a role in Boston's rotation when he's finally ready to return.
