Texas Rangers pitching prospect Kohl Drake enjoyed a strong bounce-back in his latest start. On April 16, Kohl tossed five innings of one-hit ball against Double-A Amarillo. In this outing, Drake served up just one free pass and struck out six batters. In his first start of the campaign, Drake allowed four earned runs and four hits across just three innings of work. Last summer, the former 11th-round selection progressed through the Texas system quite quickly as he began the season with Low-A and was able to end the campaign with Double-A. During his first stint at Double-A last season, the left-handed pitcher held a solid 3.10 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP. During this stint, Drake tallied 20 punchouts and served up 11 walks. Fantasy managers should expect Drake to contend for a promotion to Triple-A in the coming weeks.--Andy Smith
