Keider Montero Sent Back To Minors
Keider Montero back to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday after his spot start in a doubleheader on Saturday against the Baltimore Orioles. In his third start of the year over the weekend, Montero gave up only one earned run on four hits while walking two and striking out two in 4 1/3 innings for a no-decision. It was the 24-year-old's best start of the season against a tough opponent, but he'll now head back to the farm to serve as rotation depth for the big-league squad. Montero fanned eight hitters in five innings in his season debut on April 16 against the Milwaukee Brewers but also allowed five earned runs. He has so far been up and down in three starts in 2025 after going 6-6 with a 4.76 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 77:31 K:BB in 98 1/3 innings in his rookie year in 2024. Montero will be a streamer for those in AL-only leagues if/when he makes another start in Detroit.
