KaVontae Turpin 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: Ace Special Teamer Set to Return to Gadget Role
KaVontae Turpin to a three-year, $18 million contract extension in March, solidifying his status on the roster. He's an All-Pro returner who saw an increased offensive workload in 2024. He set career highs in targets (52), receiving yards (420), and rush attempts (16). Turpin is a dynamic player with the ball in his hands. Per PFF, he ranked second among all receivers in yards after catch per reception (8.5). He was also second among receivers in yards per rushing attempt (5.8) and forced missed tackles as a rusher (five). However, the Cowboys' acquisition of George Pickens will limit the opportunities for their non-CeeDee Lamb wideouts. He is also competing with Jalen Tolbert and Jonathan Mingo for the team's WR3 role behind Lamb and Pickens. Dallas has demonstrated a willingness to scheme up touches for Turpin in the past, which should continue in 2025. Even still, the inconsistency and unpredictability of his offensive role diminishes his appeal to only the deepest of leagues and comes in as WR111 in the latest RotoBaller rankings.
