Jake Burger Placed on 10-Day Injured List
Jake Burger (oblique) on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain. In a corresponding move, the Rangers promoted infielder Justin Foscue from Triple-A Round Rock. Burger was lifted from Friday's game due to tightness in his side. However, it has been revealed that Burger suffered an oblique strain, which could keep him out of action for a few weeks. Since returning to the majors after his demotion, Burger has begun to find his footing, posting a .243/.260/.456 slash line with eight doubles, seven home runs, 17 RBI, and one stolen base. During his first 30 games of the season, Burger held a .561 OPS. While he remains out of action, fantasy managers should expect Josh Smith to see most of the time at first base. Foscue could earn opportunities, but will likely have a role on the bench.
