Kamui Kobayashi will be making his first-ever NASCAR Cup Series start this weekend in the Verizon 200 at The Brickyard. He will be driving the No. 67 Toyota for 23XI Racing, which should be capable of creating plenty of speed if the driver can get there. In practice on Saturday, Kobayashi was 31st-fastest, and then in qualifying, he improved to 28th-fastest. It appears Kobayashi is getting faster as he gets more comfortable with the car, which should bode well for improvement during the race on Sunday. When asked about this weekend before practice, Kobayashi noted his concerns about only having 20 minutes of practice, and then stated, "I will say the car behavior is challenging for me because I've never driven such less downforce with the weight." --Jordan McAbee
