Justise Winslow 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoJustise Winslow is one of the trickier fantasy players to pin down. Not just because his eligibility has wavered between small forward and point guard over the past few years, but because of the stats he provides and the stats he neglects. It’s no secret that Winslow is a shaky shooter, but he still managed to knock down 1.5 threes per game last year. Still, he’s going to hurt you in just about all shooting-related stats as he’s a career 41.9% field goal shooter and career 64.4% free throw shooter. His top asset is assists as he averaged 4.3 assists per game last year, a fantastic mark for a forward. But he still averaged 2.2 turnovers per game last year, which almost neutralizes the assists-from-a-forward asset. He produces modestly in rebounds (5.4 per game last year) and steals (1.1 last year) and he’s coming off a career-best scoring season (12.6 points per game). All in all, Winslow is someone to avoid for any owner who likes efficiency, but he can be a valuable late-round target in deep leagues for owners looking for counting stats and assists in particular.
