Houston Astros right-handed pitching prospect Julio Cesar Rodriguez has been suspended for 80 games for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance. Emily Waldon of Baseball America reported that this suspension will begin immediately. Rodriguez recently moved up to Double-A but will now miss the next 80 contests. Through his first 4 1/3 innings with Double-A this season, Rodriguez has not allowed a run and holds a 6:2 K:BB. Rodriguez opened the campaign at the High-A level and posted a hefty 7.39 ERA with a 1.54 WHIP. During these 28 innings of relief, Rodriguez struck out an impressive 41 batters and allowed 14 walks. When he returns from suspension, he will likely report to Double-A.--Andy SmithRead More News
