Josh Naylor Resting For First Time This Year
Josh Naylor will take his first day off of the season in Tuesday's contest against the New York Mets at Citi Field. Pavin Smith is getting the start at first base and will hit seventh against Mets left-hander David Peterson. Naylor will get a long overdue day of rest on Tuesday in New York. The 27-year-old left-handed slugger has made a nice first impression in his first year in the desert in 2025, slashing .318/.388/.505 with an .893 OPS, four long balls, 19 RBI, four stolen bases and 15 runs scored over his first 107 at-bats. He's gone 4-for-19 in his last five games, but he is coming off a three-hit performance in Sunday's series finale against the Atlanta Braves. Smith is hitting .333 (23-for-69) on the year and has hit .750 in four career at-bats against Peterson, but he's hitless in just three at-bats against lefties this year and is a poor DFS choice on Tuesday.
