Houston Astros second baseman/left fielder Jose Altuve had a nice game at the plate in Monday's 8-5 win over the Tigers. Batting second, Altuve went 2-for-4 with a single, a two-run home run, and three RBI. The 34-year-old turned on a sixth-inning Jack Flaherty fastball, launching it off the left-field signage to put the Astros up by one. Altuve had been scuffling at the plate recently, so this performance will hopefully jump-start things again. Overall, he is slashing a respectable .282/.316/.409 with four HR, 12 RBI, and three stolen bases in 117 plate appearances.--Connelly Doan
