New York Mets right-handed pitching prospect Jonah Tong continued his dominant campaign at Double-A on Thursday evening. Facing Double-A Reading, the right-hander logged five innings of one-run ball with just three hits and no walks. He struck out six hitters. Since June 1 (45 innings), the budding ace has posted a near-perfect 1.20 ERA with a 0.73 WHIP. During this stretch, Tong has flashed elite strikeout potential, tallying 66 while serving up just 13 walks. Through 89 total innings at Double-A, Tong has posted a 1.72 ERA with a 0.90 WHIP. Given his incredible start to the season, the No. 58-ranked prospect in baseball should be in the mix to join Triple-A in the coming weeks. However, he will face an uphill battle to debut in Queens this season.--Andy SmithRead More News
