John Hunter Nemechek will be making his first NASCAR Cup Series start in nearly a year this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway, as he will be piloting the No. 42 Chevrolet for Legacy Motor Club. Recently, Carson Hocevar has been driving this car to solid finishes, with four top-20 finishes in the last six races. This weekend, John Hunter Nemechek showed decent long-run speed during practice (he was 24th-fastest on the 10-lap average chart) and he qualified in 24th-place for Sunday's 4EVER 400 Presented by Mobil 1. Nemechek raced here at Homestead last season for 23XI Racing and came home with a 27th-place finish. However, he has shown talent at high-wear race tracks throughout his NASCAR career, and could be a contender for a top-20 finish this weekend with how this No. 42 Chevrolet has been racing lately.--Jordan McAbee
