St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher John Gant struggled in his start on Monday, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks in 5 1/3 innings. He struck out five but took the loss, evening his record at 1-1. This was more or less a spot start for Gant, who will either move back into the bullpen or back down to Triple-A. Adam Wainwright (elbow) is expected to be ready to go the next time his rotation spot comes up. Gant doesn't need to be owned in the majority of formats.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
