Jo Adell 2020 Outlook: Oozing with Athleticism, Speed, Raw Power
5 years agoIt’s almost impossible to not be a Jo Adell fan. The athleticism is off the charts. The maturity and make-up are off the charts. And he’s improved his baseball skills much more quickly than anyone really expected when he was drafted out of high school. He turns 21 in April and probably needs about two or three more months of minor league seasoning before joining Mike Trout in the Angels’ outfield. If he hadn’t been injured in 2019, he might have reached The Show then. Adell can get too aggressive at times but when he stays within himself and relies on his natural talent, he's an impact player with the bat. He should easily top 20 home runs in his prime. He hasn’t been overly inclined to steal bases in the minors — possibly due to a litany of injuries — but he has the speed to be a 20-20 (HR-SB) threat if so motivated. Adell has a pretty clear path to playing time (when ready) after the rumored Joc Pederson deal fell through with the Dodgers. It wouldn't be a surprise to see the rookie in The Show before the summer.
