The New York Mets announced on Monday that shortstop prospect Jett Williams will be at major-league spring training this year as a non-roster invite. In addition, first baseman Ryan Clifford and pitcher Brandon Sproat will be non-roster invites. Williams is considered the No. 58 overall prospect in baseball, per MLB Pipeline. It was a tough 2024 for the 21-year-old former first-rounder, as he hit just .215/.358/.298 with no home runs, four RBI, five steals and 35 strikeouts in 148 plate appearances over 33 games with Single-A St. Lucie, Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A Syracuse. He missed four months after having wrist surgery but could make his MLB debut in 2025 thanks to a patient approach at the plate and good wheels on the base paths. Williams should open the year at Syracuse, but his intriguing tools make him a nice stash candidate in dynasty/keeper leagues.--Keith Hernandez
