The New York Jets are benching starting offensive guard Alex Lewis for the second straight week in Week 13 against the Raiders because of "an organizational decision," according to head coach Adam Gase. Lewis is not being fined, though, and his roster spot isn't in jeopardy. The 28-year-old is attending virtual meetings but hasn't been allowed to practice since last Friday before he was benched in the Week 12 loss to the Dolphins. The situation isn't injury related. Lewis was acquired from the Ravens in a trade in August of 2019 and he was re-signed to a three-year, $18.6 million deal last offseason. He has started 21 games for the Jets at left guard. It's more turmoil for the only team in the NFL without a win in 2020. Update: the team is planning to place Lewis on the Non-Football Injury list, which would keep him out for a minimum of three weeks.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
