Jesus Sanchez Continues Hot Hitting
Jesus Sanchez went 3-for-5 with a single and two doubles in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Colorado Rockies. The 27-year-old scored and drove in a run while drawing a free pass. He's up to a hit in eight straight appearances (six starts), batting an eye-popping .449 (13-for-29) over the stretch. During the streak, he's tallied two homers and three doubles to go along with six runs scored and four RBI. Sanchez is still striking out at an elevated clip (21.3%), but he's brought his walk rate into the double digits (12.2%) for the first time since his cup of coffee in 2020. The 6-foot-4 lefty has occupied the first or second spot in the Marlins' lineup in all but two starts since May 9 and hit .289 over 83 at-bats in the month.
