Buffalo Sabres left wing Jeff Skinner picked up his 35th and 36th goals of the season in Friday's 6-2 home loss against the New York Rangers. His second goal was a power-play marker which pulled the Sabres to within 3-2 after 40 minutes. However, the rest of the team did not provide any offensive support and they fell apart defensively in the final 20 minutes. Skinner is just one goal short of his career high of 37 set during the 2016-17 campaign with the Carolina Hurricanes. He also has a plus-8 rating, which would be his first time in the positive since his rookie season of 2010-11. Skinner, an impending free agent, is playing his way into a lucrative contract in the offseason.--Daniel Dobish
