Jamal Murray 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoDenver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray is fresh off a career year that led the Nuggets to offer the young Canadian guard a massive extension to the tune of five years, $170 million. With this, the Nuggets see Murray as one of the franchise cornerstones moving forward. After posting 18.2 points, 4.8 assists and 4.2 rebounds, we can only expect these numbers to increase in the 2019-20 season. Murray is not quite in the upper tier of guards as of yet and will not be until he can improve his field-goal percentage (43.7%), steals (0.9 a game) and assists from his last season numbers. Until then, he is a solid mid-round pick in redraft formats, with his low being last season's numbers to a high of being a 20/6/5 type player. It will be tough to see his assists increase to that mark with their main ballhandler being Nikola Jokic, but if he can improve his percentages and up his steal’s numbers, we could see a top-35 player this upcoming season.
