Jacob Wilson Homers, Logs Second Straight Three-Hit Game
Jacob Wilson continued his eye-opening start to the season Sunday with a three-hit game in a 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. The 23-year-old led off the bottom of the first with a 420-foot bomb against Phillies left-hander Jesus Luzardo. Wilson later chipped in a pair of singles to finish 3-for-4. It was his second straight three-hit game and fifth multi-hit effort over his last seven contests. Wilson, who rarely strikes out or walks (he has a K:BB of 11:12), ranks near the top of the league in contact rate. His unique approach has paid significant dividends so far in 2025, as he's off to a .350/.393/.495 start with six homers and 28 RBI in 215 plate appearances. He'll try to keep it going in his next game on Tuesday against Houston Astros ace right-hander Hunter Brown.
