Jacob Melton Starting Rehab Assignment at Triple-A
Jacob Melton (ankle) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sugar Land on Thursday. He went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in his return and looks to be healthy after recovering from an ankle injury. All four of his batted balls on the night were hard hit, with exit velocities of 99.9, 102.1, 107.9, and 111.7 mph. The 24-year-old earned a promotion to the majors before getting injured and struggled a bit with a .241/.290/.310 slash line with a 38.7 percent strikeout rate in 31 plate appearances. But he has an intriguing skillset with power and speed, as he's put up exciting home run and stolen base totals throughout his minor-league career. He is a solid speculative add in deeper leagues for when he is activated and someone to monitor in dynasty formats.
