Jace Sternberger 2020 Outlook: Improvement On The Horizon?
5 years agoGreen Bay Packers tight end Jace Sternberger had a disappointing rookie campaign, finishing the regular season without a catch while appearing in only six games due to injury. However, he did begin to show flashes of efficiency during the postseason by hauling in all three of his targets and scoring one touchdown. With veteran tight end Jimmy Graham now in Chicago, the sophomore has the chance to be the No. 1 option on the team's depth chart. While the team did select Josiah Deguara out of Cincinnati in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, head coach Matt LaFleur indicated that Sternberger could get more snaps out of the slot in addition to lining up out wide as a receiver this season. Nonetheless, for those playing in formats outside of 12-team leagues that utilize multiple tight ends, Sternberger isn't worth using a pick on. He is, however, worth monitoring as the season progresses, especially if he becomes a frequent target of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
