J.D. Martinez Remains Out In Series Opener Against Tampa
J.D. Martinez (groin) remains out of the starting lineup for the first game of the series against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday. Martinez is dealing with tightness in his adductor muscle, and the Red Sox are giving him another day off to rest as he continues to receive treatment. He is traveling with the team to Tampa, though, so he has a chance to return to the lineup either Saturday or Sunday. The 34-year-old isn't expected to need a trip to the injured list, and his fantasy managers should continue to consider him day-to-day. Travis Shaw is serving as the DH and hitting eighth on Friday, while Jackie Bradley Jr. is in right field and hitting sixth against Rays right-hander Corey Kluber.
