Hunter Renfrow 2021 Outlook: Future PPR Machine or WR3 Lifer
4 years agoNormally when a player has 105 catches after two seasons in the league, year three would leave you brimming with optimism. Such is not the case for Hunter Renfrow, who is a consistent receiver that moves the sticks for the Las Vegas Raiders. Being a valuable commodity to a football team is quite different than being a fantasy football prospect. Is this as good as it gets for Hunter Renfrow from a fantasy perspective? With only six touchdowns to date and a host of other red zone threats, it sure looks like Renfrow is a middling WR3 in PPR leagues, at best. Renfrow is not an attractive prospect despite playing the slot and seeing the field 75% of the snaps. The Raiders lack a true #1 receiver as the other starters are second-year options Henry Ruggs III and Bryan Edwards and 31-year-old field stretcher, John Brown. The Raiders are trying to forge an offensive identity. You still have the uber talented Darren Waller as the top receiving threat at tight end and Josh Jacobs gives the team a run-first look. Renfrow is a valuable piece for any football team to have but not a fantasy star unless the injury bug hits the Raiders hard.
