Los Angeles Angels pitching prospect George Klassen tossed five innings of one-run ball on Wednesday against Double-A Montgomery. He allowed five hits, no walks, and tallied a season-best eight punchouts. This was a strong bounce-back outing for Klassen as he allowed five runs (zero earned) and six runs (all earned) over his first two starts of the season, respectively. Across those two outings, Klassen tallied just seven punchouts across five 2/3 innings of work. Klassen is considered the No. 3-ranked prospect in the Angels system on MLB Pipeline. Last summer, the Minnesota product split time with Low-A, High-A Jersey Shore before moving up to Double-A Rocket City. Across 93 total innings, Klassen held a solid 3.10 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP. He could be in the mix to make his Triple-A debut later this summer.--Andy Smith
