Frankie Montas Delivers Strong Performance In First Start
7 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Frankie Montas gave a great first performance on Sunday, picking up a win in a 2-1 game over the Diamondbacks. The 25-year-old flamethrower tossed six innings of one-run ball on three hits and two walks with seven strikeouts. Montas got the call from Triple-A Nashville with Brett Anderson (shoulder) on the disabled list. While this first performance was encouraging, Montas has posted an underwhelming 4.39 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 41 innings pitched with Nashville this season. Montas will need to show more than one start to prove that he is fantasy relevant.
