Emmanuel Sanders 2020 Outlook: May Regain Respectability With Saints
5 years agoSanders has been declining in appeal and production over the last three seasons, as he has dealt with missed time and he changed uniforms during the 2020 season. The Broncos shipped Sanders to the 49ers after seven games, and it is often not easy for a wideout to adjust to a new team during the season. That theory was reflected in Sanders’ production for the 49ers, as he caught 36 passes for 502 yards and three TDs. He scored double figure fantasy PPR points in just one game from Weeks 10 through 17. Sanders is now heading into his age 33 season. The age and recent downturns in production have transformed Sanders into an later-round afterthought heading into the 2020 season. His ADP is 124. The RotoBaller staff ranks him 44th at WR. But there is some promise for Sanders to outperform those markers based on his new landing spot. Sanders signed a two-year deal with the Saints in the offseason, and can fill a longtime hole at the WR2 spot for New Orleans. The 49ers had the lowest pass/run ratio in the NFC at 49.0%, while the Saints threw the ball 58.9% of the time. Sanders has a starting opportunity with a star QB and could regain consideration as a fantasy starter. It would not be surprising to see Sanders catch 75 balls and approach the 1,000 yard mark again. Take this late flier based on a promising move into a better passing offense.
