Christopher Bell had one of the fastest race cars heading into the Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway on Sunday evening, but the Joe Gibbs Racing driver ended up with a very disappointing 23rd-place finish when it was all said and done. Bell started from the pole position and led 40 laps but he hit the wall with is No. 20 Toyota early in the race and was never able to recover from that. After the race, the driver said, ""I just got in the marbles in turn 2 and damaged the car early,. That was pretty much the story of our night." That disappointing run puts Bell just one point above the Playoffs cut line for the Round of 12 with two races remaining before the chop is made. The good news, however, is that Kansas Speedway is the site of the next race. "We have speed a lot," Bell said. "I know that Kansas we're going to be fast again. That's been a really good racetrack for Toyota. … We just got to put it all together."--Jordan McAbee
