Dustin Pedroia To Be Evaluated Monday
6 years agoBoston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia (knee) was shut down on his rehab assignment over the weekend and will be re-evaluated on Monday in Boston. Pedroia was pulled from the game with Double-A Portland on Friday because his knee felt cranky, and this is just another setback for a veteran player that has managed to play in just nine major league games so far the last two seasons. There's no timetable for his return. Even when Pedroia is ready, the Red Sox have Michael Chavis as the clear starting second baseman right now. There's little hope right now that Pedroia will get many chances to produce in Beantown the rest of the year.
