Dustin Pedroia Still Has Long Recovery
Dustin Pedroia (knee) still has a lengthy process ahead of him before he is ready to get back on the field in games, according to Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe. Manager Alex Cora said it was unlikely Pedroia would even be ready for a minor league game before camp ends on March 27. Currently, Pedroia is taking batting practice on the field every other day and doing limited defensive work. He could start an on-field running program next week. As with all other routines in the new Red Sox regimen, Pedroia's process will be methodical and gradual. It will take time for him to build up to playing consecutive games. It is likely that Eduardo Nunez starts the season at second base.
