According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and Toronto Blue Jays are the finalists for Japanese free-agent starting pitcher Roki Sasaki. The overseas superstar is viewed as one of the top pitchers of the offseason and received offers from several clubs. Earlier on Monday, it was reported that Sasaki had turned down offers from the New York Yankees, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, and Chicago Cubs. In the 2024 season, the hard-throwing right-hander struck out 129 batters across 111 innings of work in the NPB. He posted a strong 2.35 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP. The Dodgers have already addressed their starting pitching this offseason by signing two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell to a five-year contract. The Padres and Blue Jays have yet to add any starting pitching, though. Sasaki is already being viewed as a high-end fantasy asset, as he sits with a current 99.5 ADP before even throwing a major-league pitch. Once he inks a deal, fantasy managers should expect his ADP to continue to rise given his elite strikeout upside.--Andy Smith
