Los Angeles Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said on Friday that he expects the team to use a traditional five-man starting rotation until right-hander Shohei Ohtani (elbow, shoulder) returns, at which point the Dodgers will move to a six-man rotation. It means that L.A. will roll with an eight-man bullpen for the start of the 2025 season. Blake Snell, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow and rookie Roki Sasaki are locked into the top four spots in the Dodgers' rotation, with Tony Gonsolin, Dustin May, Bobby Miller, Landon Knack, Justin Wrobleski and Ben Casparius being candidates to compete for the No. 5 spot to begin the year. Gonsolin has the most experience of the lot, but he also didn't pitch at all in the big leagues in 2024 after having Tommy John surgery in August of 2023.--Keith Hernandez
